CNIB Guide Dogs Program's mission is to provide these individuals with the mobility assistance, independence, and companionship they need to lead full and active lives. The demand for guide dogs has surged, with the pandemic rapidly increasing the urgency for additional funding to meet the rising need, currently averaging 30-50 applications per month.
The CNIB covers all costs associated with the guide dogs from puppyhood to retirement, ensuring there is no financial burden on the individual. Each guide dog represents an investment of $50,000, entirely funded by CNIB.
